Welcome to the Dutch Shepherd Kennel van de Tiendschuur!
There are three varieties of the Dutch Shepherd (officially known as the Dutch Shepherd Dog): short-haired, long-haired, and wire-haired. Officially, these varieties differ only in coat type, with the same breed standard requirements applying to appearance and character. However, since these varieties have been bred separately for a long time, some differences have inevitably developed over the years.
We have been breeding long-haired Dutch Shepherds since 1977 and occasionally combine long-haired with short-haired breeding. We hope to breed her at the next heat in February/March 2025. We are then expected to have longhair puppies in April or May.
Read more about the Dutch Shepherd here and on the website of the Dutch Shepherd Dogs Club (NHC) (https://hollandseherder.nl). The NHC looks after the interests of all three varieties.
