Welcome to the Dutch Shepherd Kennel van de Tiendschuur!
There are three varieties of the Dutch Shepherd (officially known as the Dutch Shepherd Dog): short-haired, long-haired, and wire-haired. Officially, these varieties differ only in coat type, with the same breed standard requirements applying to appearance and character. However, since these varieties have been bred separately for a long time, some differences have inevitably developed over the years.
We have been breeding long-haired Dutch Shepherds since 1977 and occasionally combine long-haired with short-haired breeding. If all goes well, we are expecting a litter of long-haired puppies at the end of October 2024.
Read more about the Dutch Shepherd here and on the website of the Dutch Shepherd Dogs Club (NHC) (https://hollandseherder.nl). The NHC looks after the interests of all three varieties.
